For those tempted to believe maybe the Vicini family had had a change of heart and had finally chosen to do for their sugar cane cutters what is right and fair; maybe you should think again and take one hard look at the facts. Guillermo Yan from Batey Cánepa doesn´t think so.
For generations, thousands of poor helpless workers silently accepted this abuse. But now something has changed; the Guillermo’s of those plantations are alone no more. They have us, most of all they have an attorney, who will fight the good fight on their behalf. And we will continue this struggle whatever the cost, to the Supreme Court if necessary.
Let me assure everyone that nothing, absolutely nothing in this world will stop us in the advancement of the rule of law on those plantations. I made an oath to those people; I will keep my word no matter the price we are to pay.
