HOLDEN — Area residents familiar with the efforts to build a hospital in La Romana, Dominican Republic, are scrambling to help support teams from that hospital being sent into Haiti to relieve some of the suffering there wrought by the Jan. 12 earthquake. Many of the sugarcane field workers served by La Romana’s hospital are Haitian migrants.
