Some 200 sugar farm workers’ dependents have availed of free skills training from the National Federation of Sugarcane Planters (NFSP) through its Sugar Workers Foundation Livelihood and Technical Skills Training Center recently.
Ma. Regina Martin, Sugar Regulatory Administrator, was the guest speaker during the graduation of NFSP’s 25th Batch of graduates consisting of farm workers, their dependents and out of school youths who finished their training in highly employable skills.
Welding, automotive repair and maintenance, building wiring installation and computer operations and hardware servicing were among the courses taught.
The courses are all registered and compliant with the standards of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
The NFSP training center was established more than eight years ago to provide free training in highly employable skills for farm workers and their dependents.
Since then, it has made a name for itself as an institution which is a very efficient intervention in uplifting the quality of lives of farm workers and their dependents.*(NFSP/PIA/CAD)
